A group of bantam breeders of the greater St. louis area met in July of 1954 at Jones Park, East St. Louis to discuss the organization of a Bantam Club. The name of the club was suggested by Mr. John Wunderlich (a local breeder and past president of the ABA) to be the Ill-Mo Bantam Club. Dues were set at $2.00 per year, payable the 1st of January. It is one of the oldest poultry clubs in Illinois. Dolores Kniepkamp has held the secretary position almost every year since the club began. The club has two shows per year and a lunch is provided at the spring show. There is a raffle held at each show that gets better every year. Any donations would be appreciated.
